Thrive Christian Church is a non-denominational church plant in Fayetteville, Arkansas. We launched in September of 2013 with a dream of providing a church for people who don’t know Jesus and people who have walked away from church for years. Our mission is share truth, give grace and love others. We speak the truth, but in a loving non-judgement way. We believe it’s the Holy Spirits job to make you feel uncomfortable not ours. Quite frankly, we know that we’ve screwed up in life and we are grateful for the grace that God has given us. We want to give grace to others, like God has given grace to us. We think people will get along better be more accepting that way. Then the doors are opened for us to love one another by walking through life together. Thrive is not for everyone, but everyone is always welcome.
Thrive started as a dream and then many churches helped our dream become a reality. We are eternally thankful for everyone who has helped Thrive launch. We are an autonomous church, but we are not on our own. We partner with Nexus a church-planting network based out of Texas. They provide accountability and coaching for Michael at Thrive. The ACPN (Arkansas Church Planting Network) is a network of Christian Churches in Arkansas pulling resources together to help plant churches. Churches from Texas, Missouri, Indiana, and Nebraska have been a part of helping Thrive launch. Today we continually give back to church planting to help launch churches in NWA with the partners that helped us launch.
Michael and Meg Brown migrated from the land of lake effect snow and ice fishing about six years ago. Michael was in full-time ministry for years and moved to NWA for business. After moving into town, they experienced the challenges of finding a church home, and staying putting family first with a grueling pace. They also experienced the challenges of inviting friends to church who typically don’t go to church and don’t know if they believe in God. After a couple of years in agency life supporting corporate America Michael felt called to start Thrive. A church that is open to people who typically don’t feel comfortable going to church. A church where it’s okay not to be okay. A church that is more focused on your life than your attendance. A church that walks with you at your pace. A church that doesn’t get scared when you question faith and God. A church is truly for everyone and anyone because we worship God who loves everyone. We believe that if we are a healthy church for everyone and anyone. A church that shares truth, gives grace, and loves others, then we will be a church that helps everyone experience and live life as God created us to live it.
